Vomit debuts in Rockford
Rockford man presents the wheel reinvented!

Kids in Los Angeles were so impressed with the new design of these rims they called them “sick,” so the inventor named them Vomit. Few designs earn such high praise in the younger market and Rockford will be the first area in this part of the country to enjoy the sight. Troy Lenderink of Lenderink Technologies in Belmont has been chosen to market the Vomit in the midwest. Lenderink Technologies earned their name in marketing with a substance that helps clean up oil from tanker spills and a dry adhesive used by NASA on space shuttles.

“It’s going to change the whole wheel industry,” Lenderink said. Lenderink referred to a new rim design for those with very discerning taste. The Vomit and the rest of the new wheel line feature a 3-D design—something completely different in the automotive industry. The prospective purchaser is someone who is proud his wheels and wants a unique look. At $2,000 to $7,000 per set depending on size, the new wheels aren’t for everybody—but that’s the point.

“These guys that spend $55,000 to $100,000 on a vehicle want fancy wheels to go with it. They don’t want to spend that kind of money and go down the street and see a guy at Burger
King in a $1,000 car with the same wheels,” Lenderink explained.

The 3-D wheel line includes the Spider, the Kaos, the Hypnotic, the Revenge and the Vomit. Each represents the ultimate in automotive bling. They are very wide, allowing a low-profile tire with minimal—a few inches at most—of tire to show.

“You aren’t supposed to look and see the black tire like on regular wheels,” Lenderink explained. “When you look you should just see the wheel, like you are riding on blades—all bling, bling, bling.”

Hearing a description of the wheel or even seeing a photograph doesn’t do the Vomit or its counter parts justice, Lenderink claimed. “When you see this in the sun on a car, it’s a 3-D glare—it will totally turn heads,” he said. “It’s just like when you put on 3-D glasses’ when you go to the movies. You’re really looking into something.”

The line of 3-D wheels which will debut in the Rockford area are limited edition, with only 300 sets of each created worldwide. Each is stamped with its production number, and the first l00 purchasers will receive certificates to go along with their new set of rims. Lenderink said designers hope these first 3-D wheels will be valuable collector editions.

The mesmerizing 3-D effect amazed visitors to the 2006 Specialty Equipment Market Association’s (SEMA) show Las Vegas where the wheels won numerous awards. “This isn’t just for the elite, older crowd. People who are into rap songs and that type of music, the younger group of upper class, should like this,” Lenderink stated. “It is real hip-hop type stuff”
